Ill Manors: Broadcast/online

What is SBTV? (demographic/psychographic)

SBTV started out in 2006/7 as music service on the popular platform YouTube. It used to be only the young entrepreneur Jamal Edwards recording and uploading these grime rap video but as the channel grew a production team was put in place to deliver news and music to the demographic it was aimed at. The demographic for this would mainly be teenagers as that is what this sort of music genre is aimed at but some adults in the age range of 20-30 may also be interested in the type of music. I would think that it would be a largely male dominated audience with figures around 70/75% male. The psychographic group may be strugglers as they fit into the socio-economic group of the C2,D, E's.

What is the audience appeal/ opening of the clip emphasise appeal?

The audience appeal for this interview would be that Plan B's fans and those who are interested in the film genre would be to see some sort of pre view of what the Ill Manors film may look like. Like the above, it would appeal to a younger audience, prefirably tennagers, as they've got a much younger presenter (Jamal Edwards) who can reach out to them more and hes interviewing Plan B so that would appeal to his audience. The opening feels like its meant to be kept a secret as they are creeping around the studio, the presenter also tries to interact and engage with the audience at the start trying to bring some humor and entertainment to the interview.

How is Plan B's brand represented in this text?

Plan B can be seen  to be hardworking and determined as you can see in the interview that he has been working tirelessly day and night to get this production edited in time for the screenings. He then says he's even been sleeping in the office space and hasn't even took his shoes off which was quite unexpected but it does show just how Plan B is determined for this film to do well as he knows his image is on the line and if it doesn't turn out to be a success it will be his fault.
